MAGNUM IN MAY is a photographic and cultural event taking place throughout New York City in May 2004. Twenty-one museums, galleries and cultural institutions will be participating, mounting exhibitions of work by Magnum photographers.
Coinciding with the fiftieth anniversaries of the deaths of Magnum founder Robert Capa and early member Werner Bischof, the event serves not only to honor these great photographers’ work and that of other well-known Magnum members, but also to look forward at today’s creative talent, and to examine the evolution and breadth of the Magnum tradition.
